The GhostMan - Part 7

CHAPTER 21: HELEN AND THE SPIDER

At some point Helen had left the place she was and entered a beautiful lovely place full of amazing countryside. She looked up from the spiders weaved carpet and was breathless quite literally. She felt more comfortable now and enjoyed the view. “you OK back there?” the spiders squeaky voice said another time, all the other times she had ignored him. “Oh I am fine.” Helen replied quietly. “Speak up luv I cant ere you.” said the spider. “I said I was fine Mr Spider.” Helen said louder this time. “Call me rick my lady.” “OK rick, where are we and where are we going?” “We are in the Queens land now and off too her castle my lady.” So a talking spider called rick and a queen and a castle, sounds like a fairytale or something Helen thought to herself.

Mountains in the distance, a gentle breeze in my hair, Such lovely blue skies, taking me out of despair.

Heading for a castle, The queen waits for I, Such amazing views, I hope they never tear.

“Wow me lady that was delightful.” rick commentated. “I love my poetry rick, its what has kept me going.” Helen replied with a smile. “I can see why, beautiful words from such a beautiful lady as you luv.” rick said, Helen blushed. Been chatted up by a spider, how lovely.

The castle came into view, it was magical. It looked huge and had a moat round it with pure blue water and a drawbridge. It had four towers with one huge one in the centre and they looked to be really new not like the ones in the films and books. Excitement filled Helen although a dreaded fear also was to be seen on her face as Rick swooped lower and lower. Helen did not know who the Queen was, she suddenly thought that maybe the Queen spider was about to have her for lunch or something, what will be will be she thought, what will be will be.

CHAPTER 22: VOICES AND ALARM/MEGA MEGA

Me and Ghostman carried on as normal as we could do while I thought about things logically. I remembered the projects bit by bit. I had flashbacks of stuff which was very upsetting. I saw myself slitting my wife's throat, it all looked real, was it real I did not know. I new we had to get out of hear and I new my flat was was replicated inside the laboratory so it was an assumption that this was where we were now. I don't know how we got here but I suspect Ghostman and I are dead and here as ghosts. I looked around for a way out but where too I had no idea, I had a sinking feeling that my life was going to be finally over for good even as a ghost.

We heard more voices chatting away, they become a distraction but we ignored them the best we could. It was when we herd a sudden “Alert, Alert, intruders are in the Laboratory” and lots of noise it got our attention. Men were moving around we could hear and the alert continued. I wondered what that was all about, things settled down and I heard no noise at all after that.

Mega breathed in counted to ten and, she leapt for the man with her laser drive system. The system wasn't real heavy and she moved like lightning. She caught his arm with it as he moved away and blood began to fly out of his arm. Alpha had attacked the man on the right with her Grippershot as soon as Mega had made the move and hit him smack in the face then had jumped towards him with her small laser knife and took his nose off, the man screamed out loud. Mega spun off balance and started falling but swiped the man's legs as she fell, when she hit the ground the man toppled onto her not legless but most definably feet-less. Mega pushed him off as Alpha jumped and stabbed the man deep in the heart. Mega jumped up and blocked a man with a long sharp knife then kicked him in the groin then hit him with the handle of the laser drive system. Alpha was up and been pushed back by a fat man with a laser staff. Two men were now between Mega and Alpha. Mega spotted her chance and took out her laser knife and held that in her left hand and the laser drive system in her right. She ran and cartwheeled through the middle of the two men slicing them as she got through. The man attacking Alpha was about to land the killing blow when he fell forward towards Alpha, she moved just in time to see the man fall in two halves, split right through the middle. Mega turned and looked at the two remaining men, she smiled, they ran! “Well that was Mega Mega!” said Alpha smiling. “You OK?” asked Mega. “A bit bruised but nothing serious.” “lets get out of hear then.” “yes lets do love.” she always smiled, a beautiful warm smile. They left the way they come, using another stealth rope. They reached the roof OK. They saw a guard sat down drinking what looked like whiskey. They checked their stealth suits, they worked again now, someone must have had a stealth disrupter in there thought Mega. They made there way back to the car slowly but surely and got back to the laboratory in no time.

CHAPTER 23: ON THE PROWL/GHOSTMAN

Gerard and I were ready and prepared, he had located the rough location of Ghostword but said we needed to scout around to pinpoint the exact location. Gerard would be staying and looking after the office and monitoring the consoles. He would be in direct communication with us via Ghost-link a special telepathic ghost technique which he had taught me to master. It was easy, everything seemed so easy to learn here. We opened the portal to earth, 15000076004 was the rough location. I entered, the team followed. The portal was easy it was just like another doorway but an ethereal blue colour and was shimmering. It took us to a vaguely earth like place, I had no real memories about it only what came with me been a clone of David Robertson.

Otherme was pacing about with things on his mind. I felt that there was a gap between us now, it hurt me. He told me what he thought was going on here, that this was his flat but not his flat and about this RFE thing that was going to be done to it and that we were ghosts and that I was indeed a clone of Otherme. It all made made sense but me been me I lived for now and all I had was Otherme, I loved him even if he was my brother, in a way.

I sent first Ghost-team one out first and instructed them to search for the small flat, I had showed them what it looked like from the records I had been given and I was pretty sure that was our Ghostworld. I remembered things from when I was in that Bio Dome, Evil things that were done to me and the other clone among others. I wanted Dr Sango dead but also my original, David. I was filled with hatred for them both, the other clone would be an innocent but if I wanted a true life I had to kill him and destroy this Ghostworld. Second team were to stay with me and scout around where I went with instructions to not venture far. I looked and I searched for landmarks too such as the graveyard that should be near the laboratory and therefore the flat, as well as the warehouses and industrial buildings. We were On The Prowl in another Ghostworld searching for my ticket to a real life, it seemed I had had one but they were just memories, David's memories. Before we had set out I had hired a guardian angel which meant should anything ghost-worldy go wrong I would be saved and taken to sanctuary, this was as good as I could do, but Gerard had said that my superiors didn't treat failures very good, I had no plans to fail.

I decided to draw again, I draw in pain at the way Otherme was ignoring me and pacing around the flat. I drew a picture of a building exploding and crumbling to the earth, don't know what made me think about that. I felt better after drawing it. I then drew a picture of me on a leather sofa surrounded by beautiful ladies, I could only dream. “I am The Ghostman, I am the dream, I am the painter, or so it seems, I am the controller, I am the prophet, your life is how I make it.” I mumbled to myself not knowing the words that came out.

CHAPTER 24: HELEN YOU ARE MY GUARDIAN

Helen screamed as the spider called rick dived down fast towards the castle. He suddenly came to an abrupt stop and Helen found herself at the entrance to the castle. It was a huge wooden door shaped oval at the top. Rick banged on the door. “what is the password?” a strange unreal voice asked. “compassion and serenity” replied rick after long moments. The door swung open, rick breathed a sigh of relief. “thank god I remembered this time, the last time I got it wrong, and the Queen turned me into what I am now.” he said to Helen. “Really so your not a spider then?” she asked. “well, I am a spider at the moment, but I am really an Elf from the high ridges beyond the seven vales.” he said happily. Helen grinned thinking about past books she had read especially the ones she had read to her children. She stopped. She had not even thought about Peter and Paula. “what kind of evil cow am I?” she said to herself, “my children.”

Rick led her in and they entered a huge special room that was immensely tall and gloriously decorated. Flowers and gems littered the walls and beautiful paintings hung all around. It was magnificent, Helen stared in disbelief. “wonderful ain't it my lady.” Rick said. “Its amazing.” “you will have plenty of time to look around love but we cant keep the Queen waiting lady.” “lead the way then Ricky darling.” Helen said as she followed him, wondering what he would be like in his own form.

Rick led Helen through passagways and archways and other rooms which were so lovely, like one huge piece of artwork. Eventually they came to a very small door. Helen felt scared now, “feeding chamber.” she thought . Rick banged on the door three times and again the same voice asked for a passwod. “love and joy.” Rick said. “I always remember that one” he laughed, as the small door swung open. Helen peeked inside, a small tiny room with what looked like toys and a computer, a TV she saw. “Go through my lady, the Queen is in there somewhere, ill wait here, I cant fit in anyway not like this” he chuckled.

Helen had to duck her head to get in. She went in slowly. “come in Helen, I promised you would come didn't I Helen.” a little girls voice came from somewhere amongst the mass of toys and other things. Helen stood looking around when suddenly a sweet little girl poked her head out, there was a crown on her head. “Don't be afraid Helen I wont hurt you.” Helen stepped forward towards her. “I am the Queen and you are to be my Guardian Helen, you are beautiful Helen, I like your hair” the girl said sweetly. Helen laughed. “thank you my Queen.” “there are lots I need to show you and tell you, I am so pleased you are finally here.” Helen was quiet, still not coming to terms of the situation. “I might put back Rick to himself now, did he treat you well Helen?” “like a gentlemen my Queen” replied Helen. “Like a gentleman my Ricky.” Helen said faintly to herself.

CHAPTER 25: JUMP FOR LOVE

Alpha and Mega had been busy. They had set up the cloning systems to perfection. They had already placed Davids DNA samples into the console and now it was only a matter if time that things should start to work. They waited and waited but nothing happened. “Its not going to work is it Alpha?” asked Mega downhearted. “It will, be more patient love.” “were running out of time now, only three hours to go before they start the RFE.” she sighed. “don't worry love, all will be well” Alpha smiled per usual.

Sometime later it started, the tiny cell began to grow, it evolved very fast. “Mega, you need to go soon love.” “I wanted to be here when it was done, to see his body .” she said. “time is running out and you have only an hour to get him out of there!” Alpha said in haste. Mega got ready, put her special suit on which would protect her from anything they could think of and preyed for her own safe return and that of her David. She new he may not want her but her heart so needed him. They had a made a device that would push David back into his body as soon as he came through the portal with Mega.

They opened the Portal and Mega said her bye for now to Alpha who would keep an eye on the portal. They powered the system up full. It appeared a blue, green colour and it was a pure circle and shimmered round and round. Mega took a deep breath and counted to Ten then made a Jump For love through the portal. Mega watched her vanish. “Alert, power lost, switching to backup.” Evie said smooth as silk. Alpha jumped out her skin and ran to the console, everything was powered off. “Evie backup now!” screamed Alpha with panic. “backup beginning in ten seconds” Evie replied. Alpha looked at the portal it was still open somehow. She typed “System status” on the console. The portal grew smaller. Panic set in, she loved Mega and never wanted to lose her. She ran for the portal then dived as she neared it, tears in her eyes. It disappeared before her eyes and she landed and bumped her head on a wall, and became unconscious or dead.

CHAPTER 26: RFE/SWEET GIRL HAS ENTERED THE BUILDING

I had been pacing the flat for hours trying to come up with an idea how we could get out of this mess but I could not see one. Ghostman was drawing, had been for hours. I heard voices, I listened and listened and then it came. “Everyone is to get out now there going to start the RFE now.” I heard footsteps, then a ladies voice. “If there is anyone in there, I am sorry but this laboratory has too many secrets that mankind should not know, God bless your souls,” she said then all went quiet. I knew it was that Weber women I had heard before. I turned to Ghostman. “there starting the RFE now.” he stood up and come to me and gave me a big hug. “Don't worry Otherme, all will be well.” he said and went into the kitchen to make a drink. I waited, still pacing the room.

“Sheewoorraaashhhssswoosh.” it had started, a small circle began to develop on the wall, near the sofa, it grew bigger. I watched and I waited when suddenly Ghostman came back through with drinks. “That's pretty Otherme, how did you do that?” he asked, I laughed. “Its starting Ghostman, Its starting.” We both stood watching it. Suddenly there was a knock at the door, bang, bang, bang. “let me in, let me in David.” a women's voice shouted, we both looked shocked. I opened the door slowly but she burst in and slammed the door behind me. “Sweet girl has entered the building.” said Ghostman smiling. He was right it was the sweet girl I had seen on my wedding video. The door had opened I just realised. My heartbeat grew faster. “David, it is you.” She hugged me with a huge smile on her face. She was beautiful despite the weird suit she was wearing. She took one look at the circle developing in the wall and didn't look too happy. The three of us talked quickly and she explained that she meant to take me back with her and put me into a cloned body of me and she told me of our past and that she loved me and I said that I loved her too, I new I did since watching my wedding videos. “Were trapped though David, the portal has gone, Alpha will be upset and were all going to die here soon.” she said holding me tightly. I took her hand and kissed her and led her to the bedroom. We fell onto the bed still holding one another and kissed sweetly. She was gorgeous, I felt the strong sense of desire and love between us both. “Hurry up will you, get her naked, do your stuff then can we just get out of here please, these circles are not pretty any more.” I looked up at Ghostman. “there is no way out Ghostman.” I said, I suddenly noticed the rope he held in his hands. “Its just up through the roof Otherme, I thought you new.” he said “its been there all the time since we met.” he went on. Me and my sweetheart-who I learned was called Mega now-were speechless. “Do you mind if I watch?” asked Ghostman.
